We’re building a social network that is truly private using modern strong cryptography.
The goal is to be resistant to all varieties of censorship and surveillance while still being feasible to use for the average person without a background in security.
Funds raised through littlebitback will be spent on the following:
Hosting expenses – It is important to use a hosting provider that is both reliable and trustworthy even when we are only storing encrypted data
Graphic design and site layout – Part of getting this technology to ordinary people is making it look like the services they use every day, hiring a good designer enables us to achieve that while focusing on the core goal of ensuring high quality security
Outside penetration testing and audits – a vital part of ensuring the service can be trusted is obtaining outside audits
Currently it is anticipated that FriendCrypt will launch for beta by the end of April 2015. Depending upon the response to this fundraiser it may be entirely supported through donations or may go the freemium route. What will never happen is targeted advertising or selling your data to other parties.
For more information please enter your email address at friendcrypt.com and you will receive an email when we are ready to enter beta.
